Developed over more than 40 years of experience
The original KERN was called KERN Internationale Handels- und Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH
and was established in 1969.
KERN quickly gained clients both in Germany and throughout Europe and before long its services were
in such demand that a single premises just wasn't enough. The opening of the first regional office
followed in Düsseldorf in 1979. With the opening of further offices the company was re-formed as
KERN GmbH Sprachendienste. The establishment of the first foreign subsidiary office was in Paris in
1983 and was quickly followed by the establishment of the KERN Corporation in New York in 1985.
During the 1990's the company expanded its network of subsidiary offices both inside and outside of
Germany.
In 1997 the company was re-formed as KERN AG, Sprachendienste and in May 2005 the head office was
moved to Frankfurt. In the completely renovated central office, the KERN Group has seven floors of
office space all under one roof, from which it can offer every type of language service. Meanwhile
Kern AG also has more than 40 regional offices worldwide.
The wide range of language services available "all under one roof" makes it possible for the KERN
Group not only to simply translate texts, but rather to fully edit them and thereby to help leading
companies in forming their international identities.
